The long awaited blog post

I've almost been married a month. It seems crazy. It also seems crazy that I haven't written a blog entry in nearly that long. I should have right away - with the high and memories so crisp and clear. Well they still are, but I am riding less of a wedding day high and have settled into married life (which to tell you the truth is much like normal life).

I still haven't gotten all of the pictures from the Wedding. I am currently making up a scrap book and can't decide if I should just post all of the pictures or Scan in the scrapbook pages so you can see everything in my creative wonder with little notes as to what was going on and who's who.

For those of you who are too impatient to wait for me to artistically display my wedding, well here is the photo bucket album with a partial amount of photos. Deirdre & Andrew's Wedding <- go there.

We still haven't even written our thank you cards. We're waiting for some of the (bound to be amazing) photos from Dad before we make a decision on which one we will use for the front of the thank you cards. We haven't forgotten though! So be patient!

So wedded life is good. it is normal. We just got our Marriage Certificate back and I will slowly but surely start changing over my name. I am still working on my signature. I had a hard time the first few days. My signature ended up looking like DRanuff, then moved to DPanuff now its finally getting down to DPuuuf... I'm still not used to a short last name... my hand just wants to keep signing away. I imagine by next month I'll have the new signature down.

Aside from recovering from the wedding life has been normal.

Well there have been some exceptions with my health. I went for a blood test last Saturday and it turns out I have a low thyroid count. So this whole time I've been moody, had a lower then normal sex drive and gaining weight and unable to loose no matter how hard I try (ok I only lost a bit, not as much as I thought I should have, being totally honest) and of course the messed up periods...was all because I have a messed up thyroid. Apparently this commonly happens in women after a pregnancy or miscarriage. Another side effect is depression - which makes sense as lately I have been quite depressed, but I would also tie that in with the weight gain.

So on Monday I see my regular doctor to start medication. My sister in law has the same problem and I am a bit worried as she said medication is expensive, and if I have low iron, the shots can be painful. The expensive part worries me more as neither Andrew or myself have any health coverage aside from what is standard in Canada.

So wedding, health, anything else new?

We rearranged our living room, made a mini shrine to the wedding on a wall and I did some planting on the deck to get some summer around us. I haven't painted, though I have been wanting to. Currently my painting room is storage for everything we moved out of the living room - So it is not a very comfortable place to let myself go.  I've also had a lack of initiative to do anything.

There is one thing I have initiative to do, however, and that is go camping! I have decided that Andrew and I definitely need to get our camp on this year. I wanted to go to Osoyoos, but the campsite there is already all booked up. There are a couple others, but my heart is now set on Green Lake. I haven't been there since I was a kid and I am going to attempt to get mom and aunts and cousin's together to relive the giant camping trip I remember as a kid. Granted it will be a bit off as half of the people (ie: half sister, dad, uncles) have divorced or disbanded, but I still think it would be great - some of us cousins are still close enough to pull it together. It also wont be as large, for me, as I don't have a camper or dad's budget ^.^ Eventually I hope we'll be able to have the kind of awesome camping trips I had in my childhood, but that takes hard work to get there.

Oh we have had some happy news though! Seems our wedding has spawned a slew of others. Andrew's little brother Joey and his g/f Alyshia are engaged! They don't have a date yet, but are looking for next year. My own older sister, Angie, is getting married to her b/f Randy. I am very happy for Angie, but personal issues from before pull me back a little. I worry that he will hurt her, but I hope that this commitment strengthens their relationship and solidifies it, and that he will never hurt her again. She deserves happiness - more then anyone I know. Rumor also has it that Andrew's cousin will start planning a wedding again, though she is going to deliver her 2nd baby, a boy this time, this year. I think it would be great! And give us an excuse to travel!

Well that's it for now. Will try to not let my times away be so far.

It's almost here!

5 days till I am Mrs. Puff. 5. FREAKING. DAYS.

I've gotten asked a lot if I am nervous. Nope.

Andrew and I are so casual when we say it too. "Are you getting nervous?" "Nope." maybe add in a shrug for good measure.

I feel sort of bad. Like we should be grinning ear to ear, twitching with the expectations that married life should have. But we don't. We know what married life holds, the same as it holds for us now.

The thing is it feels right. It feels normal. This is like waking up in the morning and going pee. It's just the order of things. We knew it was coming, and despite all we've had to work through, we know it's going to stick.

I overheard my mom talking to my opa about our upcoming nuptials. The one sided conversation went along the lines of how it's me and Andrew forever. We're marrying once, and only once.

Now all of this is not to say I'm not excited for our big day. Oh am I ever! I am excited to wear my dress and walk down the isle, and cry tears of joy and see the same in Andrew's face, in my family's faces. I'm excited to party and have all of that. But I am also excited to just get on with life as Mrs. Puff.

I do, expect the nerves to come out of my dreams (cause at 3 am that is where they are hiding) and eventually show up in me as the date gets closer.... but so far so good.

Count down begins

The wedding countdown has begun (ok it was already on, but now its serious!) 11 days until the big day. Until I leave my days of childhood fun before (pfft) and become a women (pfft, again) or at least become Mrs. Puff.

With such a fun new last name will I end up evolving to what that name evokes? Randall is such a stiff name. I think of Randall's I think of ramrod straight backs, yes sir's and no elbow's on the table. I think of Puff I think of camping and playing in the wild, and yes cream puff's - but I've had a mean sugar tooth lately.

Will I become more fun as my new name becomes a part of me. And man will it be weird to change it!

We decided that I would fully change my name, not hyphenate it. Andrew has been a bit wishy washy about what he wants - but I decided that hyphenating my name, in this case, was kind of like a prenup. I can see situations where it would be necessary - usually one's where your career is in your name. This isn't the case for me, though I think I will keep my maiden name for my Art... once I've done enough research on what painters are out there (I know as an author, there is already a few Deirdre Randalls out there).  Back to what I was saying - hyphenating my name, in this situation, would be like a prenup in the way that it seems like I'm already preparing for divorce. I, myself, am so on the fence about the marriage that I have my name as a back up? I don't want a divorce - I want to work on the problems and fight through our problems and the happy ever after... so I'm going to be Deirdre Dawne Puff. Man it feels weird.

I'll get used to it though.

I've been asked if I'm getting jitters, or nervous lately. Nope. The only nerves I have are for the amount of money that has to go out in the next 10 days. We also have to buy ALL the alcohol (well what MOH doesn't bring back from Hawaii). It feels like there is so much to do... and that I'm forgetting things- though I don't think I am.

Well don't plan on hearing from me as I go into the universe of Wedding, there may be some updates - but you may not see me until I come back as Mrs. Puff!

Stagette

Oh the Stagette. A nobel and honorable tradition where the bridesmaids get their revenge upon a poor unsuspecting bride by getting her sloshed beyond belief, make her do embarrassing things - photograph said things to blackmail her with later, and then leave her to wallow in her hangover. Luckily my bridesmaids are awesome, I don't blackmail easy, and I don't get hangovers!

The Stagette started the Friday before with a trip to the shooting range. My MOH set this up as an extra for me since I have always wanted to shoot a gun. Her dad has a Smith & Wesson .40 cal handgun. Apparently that's something impressive. I just know it almost sent me on my ass, wuss that I am.

It was terrifying to try shooting, we had to load the clips first, which was cool until I realized that my DNA is all over these and what if someone takes them and stages a murder with them?! CSI geek moment - I know.
We had the option of shooting a shotgun as well. I have a picture with it but I wouldn't try my hand at shooting it. It terrified me! Nicole, my MOH did. She rocked it, but only shot 4 rounds off - it was too scary for me or Cassie. (Cassie being the smallest of my Bridesmaids also almost landed on her ass with the handgun.)

A good night's rest was then needed (actually I didn't get that much sleep. I felt the need to play Black ops until the wee hours of the morning, so high on my power-gun trip I was). I woke up bright and early to go to my SPA TREATMENT! hell yes!

Oh it was the most relaxing experience I have ever had! I had this cute little masseuse with some Romanian or maybe Russian accent and the most amazing hands eva! She rubbed me into a coma like state. It was awesome! I couldn't speak properly for a good hour afterwards.

Another perk of the spa was that I smelt like it afterwards, so every time I'd go pee I'd get this wiff of spa from my legs (everything else eventually started smelling like normal, except my thighs, probably because the jeans locked in the relaxing smell)...this sounds dirtier then it needs to.

My MOH, Nicole took me for breakfast and then we picked up Lysh, Bridesmaid, in our totally kickass Stagette mobile! Yeah, that's right. a Hummer! We totally rocked.
It was then time to get ready. I was decked out in Bridezilla wear and became "Bridezilla" labelled as such from my head to my..well arm. But you get the point. We had to rush and get iron on stickers but MOH did an amazing job of them. Hair puffed and straightened and crown perched properly it was time to get on with our adventure. First stop - the liquor store. After that we moved on to the freeway, where I had to get reactions from other drivers on me and Willy.
Willy was well liked, though there was a travelling caravan of boys (I'm going to suggest they were gay) because the driver was thoroughly disgusted, either by me or the fact that a female likes dick. I'm going to assume it was the later, his arm around his male companion eluded that females, generally, weren't that attractive to this guy. I'm hoping it wasn't me, cause - well.. we just won't think of that.
We travelled to Surrey to Central City Brewery - but because the game was on it was too packed to get in. We were starving so it was off to find something else. We went to a nice place called Gino's in Coquitlam/New West - kind of in between. They were awesome, some of the families gave me the stink eye, but they gave me a double shot for free and the waitress was awesome. Calling us by our ""hello my name is" names. Bridesmaid Lysh's was Pennie Pincher... she liked that she was called that.

See me and Cassie, a.k.a. Half Pint with our waters and Penis straws. All liquids must be drunken out of these. Though not sugary ones cause, well the straws went in our shirts after for re-use and that would have just been gross. While at the restaurant I also had to sneak into the men's washroom with Willy, while we relieved Willy. Many pictures were taken in their bathrooms.. they had a nice sink. Dinner was also great though I suffered from Tzatiki breath for the rest of the night.
We then moved on to laser tag. Which was FREAKING AWESOME! I haven't played laser tag in eons! But It was wicked. There was 2 levels to the area, and lots of pillars and walls, it was so much fun. I wonder how many times I can say that it was fun? Anyway, we couldn't take pictures inside, but managed to get the guy running it to take one before hand. I'm second from the left, clearly full from dinner as I look like a pregnant bride. ugh. It was tons of fun to play, want to do it again for sure. And it guaranteed burned off some of the calories I ate at Gino's! The guy was a bit creepy - but I imagine he is used to 15 year olds, not 20 something ladies riding high on stagette party.

We also went to the strippers after this. The Paramount Gentleman's club in New Westminster. To fit in we, of course, needed to look the part. So mustaches were needed. Willy got a lot more tattoo's here. The strip club we went to didn't serve alcohol - which was fine since we had 2 under-agers with us. It was awesome. The strippers loved us and would often come sit and chat with us. Which I preferred over getting a lap dance. I had one sit beside me and talk to me for a good 10 minutes. She was new as of February and just learning how to go upside down on the pole. It was pretty interesting. They all loved me and Willy - well duh. We finished off some dares, was offered a lap dance by some guy, creeped out by another guy, and had so many hugs and boobs placed on my head I lost count.

In conclusion it was one awesome freaking night! It was perfect for me! I didn't get trashed, we didn't do anything I regret.. and we had lots of fun! I think it was the perfect mix of mature and immature, sexy and fun.

And I have to say thank you to the girls for making it happen, and especially to Nicole, my Maid of Honor for pulling it all together. You girls are amazing, the best I could have asked for!

Hockey, Yoga, and Bridal Showers

A healthy combination, if I say so myself!

First and foremost the news that is on almost every proud Nuckers mind. The awesome win against the Chicago Blackhawks by the Canucks! Awesome! Granted I was painting while I was listening to the game, but I caught enough of it to know it was damn exciting. Also judging by Andrew's hoots and hollers it was damn good to watch.

I was going to add a picture of the double rainbows we saw right before the game started out our window. I'm pretty sure that was a sign of good luck - and look how well it worked! I have a picture at home, will upload it's awesomeness later. Of course I remember to upload the pictures of the paintings, but not the rainbow *Sigh*.

[update] and here are the rainbows as seen from our window yesterday!

and speaking of the painting I was doing...

A bit of Yoga to calm down the hockey fever we were feeling. I've been dying to do these for a while and finally found a spot of time to do them. I want to do one more but havent found a position I like to fill the third. I'm thinking a cloudy-midday sort of sky for the background.

This is another one of those times I wished I had sketched first, but I kind of like the fluidity and almost ... i don't know the word for it, maybe abstract parts of the body.

On Saturday the Bridal Shower was held. Here are some pictures of how it went:

Some Gifts. Yeah. I'm shexy.

The Good Wife

Yesterday was quite a productive day all in all.

Work was a good, productive time. Considering I had felt like the dumbest of dumbs earlier this season, I feel like I am getting a lot better, learning a lot more and accomplishing a lot more. This is a good.

Then when I got home I had enough energy to not only make dinner (gasp and awe!) but to actually put away some of the laundry that has been piling up. Not all of it, granted, but a bit.

And then came the Bridesmaid meeting. Mixed feelings and the potential for too much estrogen do add in, but aside from that it all went well. We got the main idea of what we wanted to do. And I am so stoked!!! Lasertag and amatuer strippers! The best of both worlds! So many exclamation marks! Theres going to be games and other stuff, but I'm mostly excited for lasertag.

I couldn't sleep for a while becuase I was so excited and had so many things running through my head. One of the major worries is how we are 1 month and 2 days to W-Day and that equals only 2 paycheques. Eek! And now is when the big money goes out. DJ, Food and Alcohol. I'm a bit scared if we're going to be able to manage that and bills... one will have to be forgotten till after, and I know which it will end up being.  But we will get back on track, we have to. I have high hopes.

Aside from that everything is coming all together and I have a serious amount of dollar store shopping that needs to be done this Friday.

Also, I was such a good little wifey in training that I made Andrew's lunch... in as an embarrasing manner as possible in hopes he won't ask me again. (Of course I know Andrew doesn't get embarrased, and will just find it funny...or just roll his eyes at me).

I also am probably the only person who finds my sandwhich smiley-face-with-bologna-tongue-sticking-out funny, but I am sharing anyway.

Closer to the beginning

Wedding plans are rolling along, and as we get closer to the date - I start thinking less about my hobbies. Yes, they are falling to the wayside as W-Day (as it is becoming ever-known to me as) gets closer and closer.

Had our weekly Bridesmaid Meeting (BMM) and put chocolates and mints in all of the favors/centerpieces. Woot! It only took 1.5 hours! (and I didn't even have to bribe them with wine)

I know there are tons of things to still do, and the scariest part is the large amount of things I can't buy in the last 2 months before the wedding. The biggest and scariest - the food. Some of it (most of it) we can't buy until the week before the Wedding. That means crazed grocery shopping at Costco, and god help us if they don't have what we're looking for.

So far though everything is going great. My Maid of Honor has been amazing - I couldn't have asked for a better second in command, though honestly she's a bit more like the captain then me lately. Yeah, been playing too much Mass Effect 2 on my time off.

So don't plan on seeing any posts particularly relevant to anything as we get closer to W-Day. They will probably become more insane and illegible. Probably like slowly watching a crazy person go crazier. Well not so slowly.

On a side note this weekend looks like it may be one of the few relaxing ones I'll have for the next month and a half.  Shopping and sketching/painting is all that is on my to do list.

So any Bride's out there with any advice?

Oh the Excitement!

This week has been a week of very high, highs, and some lows.

After the weekend of moving and fighting and everything previously mentioned, this week has been a welcome escape.

On Tuesday I met my Aunt at Michael's and we got the silk flowers for my bouquet. Also the flower girl basket and charm that will hold my Grandpa's picture. (1 on the excitement meter)

On Wednesday Andrew got my wedding band. And of course I tried it on and made sure it was perfect... and it is! (Lets put another notch on the excitement meter) We also went and saw the hall - perfect the design for the wedding, checked the plates (and ohmygosh their kitchen is awesome!), general seating and placement, got to see what has been done so far on my bouquet (FREAKING SO AMAZING!) and perfected the processional and walk with my song! (10 notches on the excitement meter) I then went and had a Bridal meeting at my MOH's new house. Gave my niece her nurse watch thinger, and got some stuff ready for the Bridal Shower, and generally got to bask in the amazingness that this wedding is becoming. (another 3 points). So basically Tuesday and Wednesday were amazing.

Yesterday, of course, had to counteract it a bit by having my car refuse to start, me have to take my day off work and send it in to get fixed. But at the same time it wasn't as expensive as it could be, Andrew had his first day at the new job, I got my nails done by En Vouge - Nails by Jen.  Which were freaking ah-mazing! ..see! She hand painted the designs on them! Man is she good!

Plus I got my Bridesmaid gifts and some other smaller items like picture frames and bridal shower favors. All for super cheap!

The other crappy part of yesterday was that Andrew's hours at work can go up to 13 hours, and since he started and they were already a week behind - plus they had to go through Vancouver to get home since the bridge at Coquitlam had an accident, and then they were locked out of the gate - he was exhausted when he got home. I'm fine with that, except I expected him home 3 hours before he did get home. So dinner was made (then eaten by me) and I got all the presents and did all running around then went grocery shopping. Which ended up taking me 2 loads because they were so heavy and it's been 3 months since I've had to buy food for lunches. Ugh!

But I am still riding high off of all the wedding stuff.

Another plus, I get in to work today and boss tells me "we should discuss me going up in pay" sweet! I guess her day yesterday was as eventful as mine.

Speaking of work, I am off to it.

PS: Yeah I get to go see Riverdance tomorrow with my Aunts and Mom! Thanks to my Auntie Marilyn's new husband, Lee, for giving up his ticket - so I could benefit! I am so excited. I've wanted to see Riverdance since I was a wee one! Woot!

The Guilty Ivory

My world has been revolving around the wedding as of late, and I am sorry, blog, for I have somewhat forgotten you.

I have *finally* created the list of all that should be done (though list is probably not actually done). And things are rapidly getting removed from its pages. So my life is a series of getting things off of my wedding lists.

There is some interesting news on the Bridal front. MOH suggested that my sister in law be MOH because she's been doing so much. Seriously my sister in law has been a godsend to me with all of the wedding stuff. I appreciate (a lot) MOH saying this because I sort of wanted to as well. This goes back to a post I deleted about how all of my bridesmaids are like MOH's to me in how much they matter, but man has my sister in law deserved the title. So I asked my sister in law to be MOH and previous MOH retired the crown. Sister in law accepted so I guess her new tag should be Sister Maid of Honor? SMOH? That kind of looks like the initials for a fantasy book - but whatever.

So Yes, things are coming along quickly on the wedding train.

I should share some guilt that I have been broadcasting on Twitter about Japan. A week ago I got the flower girl dress in the mail (well my neighbor did, but i got it in the end). I ordered this on eBay from an Asian seller. When I got the flower girl dress I found out it was *gasp* white. Not ivory. Not like I had ordered! Here is a picture of the difference, since so many *men* out there don't understand it.

So I have this flower girl dress that totally clashes with my wedding dress. Well I look to see if we can dye it, but it's polyester, so we could try - but apparently it's hard to do. May ask seamstress on my appointment next weekend.

So I contact the seller Thursday night to see if she has a darker color because clearly this dress is not ivory.

I have yet to receive anything back.

I have come to the conclusion that the seller of my flower girl dress is in Japan and I will never get my proper flower girl dress!

Now let's make this clear, I was quite upset to hear about the goings on in Japan, the natural disaster and have kept abreast of everything going on. I have treated all of this with the suitable amount of shock, awe and horror.

But I still have this guilt because I am actually kinda peeved and annoyed about the dress debacle.

Is this the intro to the Deirdre Bridezilla I have been foreboding? It could be, it very well could be.

The Sunnyside

For the past 2 years - things have been hard. We've gotten used to the struggling, got used to life being hard. I honestly thought this would just be life - we would also struggle for money - but we would have each other, so it was worth it.

The last statement still stands. And it's not that we aren't still cutting our budge tight, but I can see the light. After 2 years, I can see the light at the end of this fight. I am finally able to enjoy the wedding planning.

This is not to say we are rolling in money, but the relief that there will be a bit extra coming in, that we can pay debts and what is owed - is such a welcome feeling! It is like years have lifted from my heart and I am suddenly able to hope with the hope of youth.

It is such a hearty drug to find hope for a future. God knows the world as we know it could use more of this.

So I am able to be truly excited for our wedding, which is coming up so rapidly! I am excited for the planning, and focused on finding those pieces we need.

I am anxious as can be and so excited for Andrew to come home on the 15th!

Life is looking up and all I can say is how thankful I am to Andrew, as I don't think I could be this happy or excited if it wasn't for him. (Which ya, is kind of obvious with the wedding.)

Wedding fever replacing sick fever

Well it looks like wedding fever has finally struck me... again! My cold is slowly going away, and in its place a flurry of wedding bogged thoughts take its place.

After a meeting with my sister in law we figured out theres a crap load I want /need to do. So i finally did what I have been procrastinating on for the longest time. I wrote a list. A list of small things I need to do, things I need to ponder on.

I feel much more organized in le brain with this list being set down. I even put down time limits for when I need some things done. Oh yeah. I'm turning into a bride alright! Late, but better than never.

Now, why all the surge in wedding planning stuff? well Andrew got a job! Yay! Not only did he get a job, he's already there! He flew out to Fort Saint John this afternoon and is settling into Camp as we speak. He will be doing 2 weeks on 1 week off. Yes, for those of you with those handy-dandy math skills, that means that I get to see him in 2 weeks (plus or minus a day or two for travel)

In other news my female cat is in heat. My male cat, who was fixed a couple years back, has been settling for hiding or playing dead when she starts howling. I cannot wait to get her fixed, and everytime she starts the dreaded howling (after i scream at her to shut up, throw various pillows at her and chase her around the house) I stare at her telling her just how much i can't wait for her to go in for surgery. I'm a mean mean kitty mommy.

Excuse Me

Oh my poor, poor blog! I have been lacking in my attention to you this past week. But I have excuses reasons, I swear!

  1. I have been too busy.
    1. When I am at work, my boss is here giving me work so I can't slack off write delectable stories for you.
    2. Aside from that when I am at home I am either busy keeping my mind of Andrew being gone, or doing some chore that I have been putting off for a year.
    3. That is unless it is Monday, Wednesday or Saturday - in which case I am playing Racquetball and pumping iron (not really iron, it's like hydraulics and there's buttons and its awesome!)
  2. I don't have anything interesting to write. OK that one is sort of a lie. I do, but with time constraints I don't want to rush it out and leave a less than spectacular blog entry sitting on the Internet (yes I realize I have done this a few times now)
  3. I'm all bummed and end up going on and on about how much I miss Andrew and my life is, like, over until I see him again *eye roll*
  4. That's actually all the excuses reasons I can think of right now.
It's not you, it's me. But just so you know, I'm going to try a lot harder! I'm going to try and nurse some amazing blog entry all day long, so that by the end of the day I have something worthwhile to put out there, something to make you proud of me, dearest blog.

Now, can I please go on to talk about more wedding stuff? No? Too bad, I'm the one doing the typing!

I have a wedding dress, this I have known for a while, but now I have a wedding dress that is being sized, and will be able to do up all the way because it will have all loops needed!

Then mom surprised me last night with a headband with this SUPER cute flowery feathery thinger that I will remove so it can go in my hair (the flowery thing, not the headband) and maybe I will try a craft day thing and add some netting so it looks a bit more ol' school.

And invitations are DONE! hells yes! Though I keep remembering that there are people I forgot to add to the list, like my dad's best friend.

And all this talk about wedding stuff reminds me of our budget. Yes, that thing that has been like Marmee Noir ** lurking over my dreams and head like a nightmare/monster.  Well I figured out that we have it pretty good. The biggest expense we may have is food (well and the DJ, but can't do anything about that) so if the whole Andrew-work-in-Alberta deal doesn't work then we can always just suggest a potluck. Worked for my mom. And yeah it's not classy, but the important thing is Andrew and I, not the food, necessarily.

Speaking of Andrew and Alberta, looks like things are getting a bit better - he's taking 2 courses out there that he needs to work on the oil rigs. He'll be done them come the end of the week and can then call rigs he has already spoken to about jobs. This is exciting. I have very, very high hopes.

Speak of high hopes, which reminds me of wishes - wish me luck on pushing through this one part of my manuscript. As I mentioned before I am stuck, not blocked, but not excited to move forward. I guess it's the starting of being blocked. I may have to move past and hope that I can remedy it in the 2nd round of edits.

Edits, Tailors, and Exercise

Bum da da dum!

We met the tailor this morning. She is ah-mazing! We figured out that if we add crinoline to the dress that we may not even have to hem in! heck yes! that saves the awesome embroidery at the bottom as well as makes the resale better a bit better.

I then went to the gym and played a pretty decent game of racquetball then went up stairs to the cardio room where they have weight machines as well. And you know what? they have like BRAND NEW MACHINES. yes the old YMCA has brand new machines, newer in fact then our leisure center (which is where everybody goes when they want to check out other people 19 and under) but these machines at the Y had BUTTONS. Yeah that's right, you heard me, buttons. On the end of each handle there was a button, one to make the weight heavier, one to lessen it. There was also a little screen that told me what the weight was and how many reps i have done. Oh em gee, that brought my exercise to a whole nother game. I had  both hands ahead of me pressing buttons and imagining myself on some sort of star wars speed racer. Yeah my arms a bit sore, but it was fun.

Then there was editing. Last night I was editing for the first few times in a while. I edited and then I got stuck. I am at a scene that needs to be rewritten. There's a lot that needs to be added to it, but its boring to me. That shouldn't be good that what I need to write bores me? Its a transition chapter, needs the passing of time. But I want it to be fun, its supposed to be fun - my character is supposed be having fun, feeling strong, being single - she isn't bored with whats going on with her. So i guess I need to get in touch with why she isn't bored. I think this needs some research in fun by myself. Perfect timing with Andrew on his way to working in Alberta.

So I have my homework for my writing. have you ever had to give yourself homework for your WIP?

I leave you with a picture of Angelina Jolie, I'm thinking this style for wedding hair. Yeah, after the tailor visit my mind is still clearly stuck in wedding land!
